IMSS-BASED INDONESIAN DEFENSE CONCEPT MAP FOR THE SUNDA STRAIT REGION

The Indonesian Archipelago Seaway (ALKI) is a strategic area with heavy ship traffic. Starting ships entering and exiting the Straits of Melaka (ALKI I), Makassar II) to Papuaan waters III).To protect regulate seaway in territorial waters, centralized system needed that can monitor all passing through waters.Integrated Maritime Surveillance System (IMSS) one latest technologies used by militaries many countries. Indonesia countries has beganto implement IMSS marine defense system.In this paper, we conduct an evaluation concept improve security. results study conducted show thatthe implementation monitoring systems using important needs be implemented, especially ALKI I region, Sunda Strait. This requires good performance coordination between people departments responsible for their respective responsibilities functions. In practice, however, leadership implementing information development IMSS-based oversight within Navy still faces various hurdles.
